Abro's Homepage Abro.ca

This client, an Assistive Devices Vendor, required a simple and easily maintainable website to showcase their products. The skills I aquired there focussed mostly on understanding and communication, my client was blind and his target clientelle were likewise blind or visually impaired. The visual presentation of the website was therefore entirely my responsability, and I was required to become keenly aware of the importance of standards-compliant websites and accessible design.

You can view the final product in my gallery of select pages, or visit the actual site.

Lensblot's Homepage Lensblot.com

Lensblot is the website of a Toronto-area photographer. This client had a clear idea of her requirements and created the site design herself, leaving the coding to me. Some of the features requested included a gallery for her photos that allowed visitors to scroll through the images, rather than dealing with popups. I combined thickbox with her design to meet her requests. I also created my own PHP/MySQL admin section that allowed her to simply upload photos from her hard drive. They were copied and resized to produce thumbnails and organized into reasonably sized pages automatically, minimizing her labour.

Lensblot has since decided to redesign her site and switch to a Wordpress-based layout, but asked me to return to work with her in order to create a fresh gallery solution. I have adapted my original photo management script to work in her new layout with tinySlideshow. The original design is still viewable in my gallery.
