About Me

Beginning with Basic programming on our family's Commodore 64, I have always had a love for computers. After a double major in Computer Science and Creative Writing at York University, I began working as a Web Developer. This became my professional career, but I'm perfectly familiar and comfortable with C++ or Java programming, which often occupies my spare time in one way or another.

I choose Web Design because of the opportunity to blend logical coding with creatively satisfying designs. The English and Humanities courses required for my Creative Writing major taught me not only creativity of thought, but also research and communication skills. These are so necessary in conveying information, which is the core of any website.

My Computer Science major has taught me logic and stringency of thought. I am able to approach projects with the discipline that writing clear, concise, and efficient code requires. I always try to produce a sharp, striking design, but accessability and to me a clean and accessable code is paramount. A beautiful website is of no use if it only works on Internet Explorer at a resolution of 1024x768 with JavaScript turned on.

I designed and coded Abro.ca and Lensblot.com while completing my degree at York, and have since begun work for the Business Development Centre. My pride in developing websites has not faded, however, and I still keep myself available for work in the field.

My work for the BDC does not involve their main website. Rather, I develop back-end projects, including an employee working hours tracker. I have developed a streamlined and automated mail order system, which will hopefully be ready for active use shortly. My time there has furthered my appreciation for clean and efficient code, which I employ in all my projects.
